Romane Dicko’s parents; After the 2012 London Olympics, Judo will land in your lives. You are 13, you watch the fighting of Audrey Tcheuméo with your father, and you are inspired by his story and his career and decide to do so. What did you feel? The story of Audrey actually touched my dad more than me. He told himself she had begun judo late, which I could if I started because I was 13 years old. She had a Cameroonian origin like us, he told us. I liked sports and I had friends already who made judo so I didn’t care about both: swimming and judo. Born on 30 September 1999, Romane Dicko is the French judoka.
I did a little dance, like all small girls, but mostly I used to swim. For my parents, it was very important. It was important to them that we know how to swim with my brothers and sisters. She is a two-time gold medalist in the European Judo Championships. She also won gold in her event at her 2021 Judo World Masters held in Doha, Qatar. In 2020 she won the gold medal for the women’s event +78 kg in the European Judo Championships in Prague, Czech Republic. In 2021, she won the gold medal for her event at the 2021 Judo World Masters in Doha, Qatar.
When I knew how to swim, my brothers and sisters stopped, but I liked sports and kept on doing so. As I have always liked to compete and to swim competitively in all areas. Although I didn’t necessarily know how far I wanted to go, I wanted to do this.
